Meet Michael Spruth
Michael is a Principal Hazardous Materials Consultant at Agon Environmental, specialising in asbestos identification and hazardous materials management. As a Licensed Asbestos Assessor and Certified Mould Testing Technician, he leads complex site assessments, remediation planning, and compliance monitoring across diverse sectors.
Michael played a pivotal role in developing an AI-powered smartphone app for asbestos detection, collaborating with Swinburne University to train the system using over 7,500 images. Meet Michael Till
Michael is the Principal Mineralogist at Agon, responsible for mineral identification including asbestos fibre identification. With over 40 years of experience in a Mineralogy/Hazmat laboratory, Michael has a unique background combining X-ray Diffraction (XRD), microscopy and ore-dressing mineralogy.
Michael has long been involved in corrosion and dimension stone mineralogy, and has participated in numerous diverse industrial and geological projects. Recently, there has been a high demand for determining the crystalline silica content of airborne dust or bulk solids, and Michael’s XRD experience is invaluable in servicing this demand.
Meet Naciye Haliloff
Naciye is the Laboratory Manager at Agon Environmental with over 19 years of experience in asbestos identification and analysis. She is a NATA-approved signatory across bulk sample analysis, fibre counting, and XRD testing for serpentine.
Naciye holds a Graduate Certificate in Occupational, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management and leads daily lab operations, quality assurance, and staff supervision. Skilled in PLM, PCM, and XRD, she specialises in complex mineral identification, including chrysotile in vinyl tiles.
