As 2025 comes to a close, we reflect on a year of growth, achievements, and milestones at Agon Environmental. From celebrating a decade in business to expanding our national footprint, this year has truly been one for the books.

10 Years of Agon Environmental

This year, Agon Environmental proudly celebrated 10 years of delivering trusted and practical environmental solutions across Australia. From our beginnings in Adelaide in 2015, we’ve grown to open offices in Darwin, Canberra, Melbourne, and now Brisbane, establishing a national presence built on expertise and client-focused service.

Over the decade, we’ve expanded our services from contaminated land and hazardous materials to agricultural wastewater, environmental compliance, cultural heritage, and NATA-accredited laboratory testing across our Adelaide, Darwin, and Melbourne labs. Our success has been driven by our people, led by CEO John Iddles, whose expertise and dedication ensure every project delivers the best outcomes for clients.

Looking back, we’re proud of our growth, the impact we’ve made on communities and projects, and the technical innovation we bring to every engagement. This milestone sets the stage for the next chapter of Agon Environmental’s journey.

“Looking ahead, Agon is focused on further growth, expanding into international markets, continuing to push technical excellence, and staying true to the values that have defined us. We are building something that lasts, not just for the next five years, but for generations to come.”
– John Iddles, CEO

Expanding into Queensland

2025 saw Agon Environmental expand into Queensland, bringing our risk-based, practical approach to environmental consulting across the state. At the helm of our new Queensland team are Principals Steven Sherrington,Nathan Scholes and Carl Grace, delivering services across contaminated land, agricultural wastewater, HAZMAT assessments, and risk and compliance advisory.

Our Queensland expansion was further strengthened by our successful prequalification to the Queensland Government’s Infrastructure, Building and Construction Panel (IBCP), enabling us to deliver environmental and cultural heritage services across government projects statewide.

Major Projects

Throughout 2025, Agon Environmental was proud to contribute to several significant national projects that reflect our technical expertise and commitment to delivering trusted, practical outcomes.

We continued to support South Australia’s Torrens to Darlington (T2D) project, providing contaminated land and hazardous materials assessments to ensure safe and sustainable infrastructure delivery.

Our team also played a key role in Victoria’s Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) and North East Link (NEL) projects, providing environmental risk management, compliance, and remediation expertise across complex transport and construction environments.

In the Northern Territory, Agon was appointed to deliver Whole-of-Government Asbestos Services for the NT Government, a major program focused on identifying, managing, and mitigating asbestos risks across government assets.

Meanwhile, in the ACT, our specialists supported the Canberra Brickworks Development, providing environmental due diligence and contamination assessment services to enable safe redevelopment of this historic site.

Together, these projects define 2025 as a year of impact and growth, showcasing Agon’s strength across infrastructure, government, and redevelopment projects nationwide.

Celebrating Our People

This year has also been a year of milestones for our team. We celebrated the 10-year work anniversaries of key team members, CEO John Iddles and ACT Manager John O’Brien, whose dedication, leadership, and technical expertise have been instrumental in shaping Agon Environmental’s success throughout the past decade.

We also welcomed some talented new team members:
