Agon is assisting the Doma Group redevelop this important historic site from a brickworks which was critical to the growth of Canberra into a modern integrated residential / commercial urban village. The site has been significantly impacted by its former operations, but rather than leaving it as a legacy, the Doma Group has developed a modern, efficient design that integrates sustainable elements to create a new chapter in its history. Agon has provided expert advice regarding contamination assessment and future management for soil, groundwater and vapour impacts and have tailored our approach to optimise time and cost constraints.
Agon has been able to assist the Doma Group with amending and refining the design to optimise remediation works.
Agon has worked closely with the Doma Group to ensure that costs and times are optimised to enable the development to be completed efficiently. Our assessment has been tailored to reflect the different uses of the site and with clear and regular communication we have been able to work with the team through all phases of the project.
The work is being completed to the requirements of the Environmental Auditor with the ultimate aim of getting a Statutory Environmental Audit for the development.
